I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. My goal as a therapist is to help individuals through difficult, stressful, painful and sometimes scary times by providing a supportive environment where they are met with compassion and understanding. I have treated individuals with various presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation, ADHD, stress management, grief, anger management, life transitions and more.
In our first session together, we will get to know each other and talk about what led you to taking this step in seeking treatment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable in talking about your experiences and emotions so that we can together create goals for treatment in follow-up sessions.
Over the past 15 years I have worked with a wide variety of people, each with their own unique experiences, backgrounds, and life circumstances. In combination with my own experiences, background and life circumstances, I have found that clients find me to be relatable, insightful and compassionate while also being direct, honest and pushing them outside of their comfort zone when needed.
I have been using CBT for many years as a way to help individuals challenge and reframing their thoughts while gaining insight to the unhelpful thought patterns they experience. This technique has helped individuals address both anxiety and depression symptoms through learning about how thoughts influence feelings and behaviors.
DBT works well alongside CBT or independently to help individuals managing distressing situations and the emotions associated with them.
I meet all individuals from a trauma informed perspective as everyone's life experiences are uniquely their own and therefore need to be understood in order to provide effective treatment.
