Hello! My name is Tana, and I am a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. I hold a master's degree from the University of Redlands and have over five years of experience working with indigenous communities and people of color. While my education and training equip me as a competent therapist, I believe that the true cornerstone of effective therapy is the value I place on the therapeutic relationship. It is this focus that fosters change and healing for those I have the privilege to support.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and talk more about the specific challenges you're experiencing. This will help me come up with a plan for treatment that is based on your needs and what you'd like to work on in our follow-up sessions.
My approach is rooted in a trauma-informed perspective, keeping in mind the profound impact of life experiences on mental health. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel understood and respected. Having worked with Indigenous communities, I recognize the importance of cultural sensitivity in therapy.
I am best suited to serve people who are ready and willing to process their experiences, build resilience, and develop effective coping strategies for their recovery journey.
Trained and pursuing certification in EMDR. I have experience using this evidence-based treatment with client's who have a history of trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety.
Life is diverse and so are our experiences. My commitment to cultural sensitivity means I honor and respect your unique background.
In creating a trusting relationship with a client, I am able to provide consistent emotional and practical support, reinforcing clients' strengths and coping mechanisms.
