Hello, I am an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), based in Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2019. I have been working since then to help others who struggle with coping, communicating or even just understanding what they need. Life can be frustrating and difficult to navigate at times. I help individuals work through these frustrations and eventually gain clarity.
I know meeting a stranger for the first time and getting into it can be a little nerve wrecking. If I can prepare you in any way, I'd say just show up for yourself and I will too. I'm ready to meet you wherever you are in your journey. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy and how I can help you. Sometimes people don't even know what they're looking for they're just tired of feeling anxious or depressed. I can help with that and together, we'll figure it out.
I value honesty, kindness, compassion and teamwork. It is important for me to approach clients with curiosity and not judgement. I would like to understand what life is like for you and how we can get you to enjoy more of it.
Do you struggle with big emotions that are weighing heavy on you? Sometimes it's a matter of not having the belief in yourself and not communicating your wants and needs. Maybe you struggle with identity and where you fit in life. Unknowns and what the future holds can lead to feeling stuck in the cycle of anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to see change happen in life, no matter where you are in that.
I work with clients to take a step back, observe themselves and the world around them with curiosity and understanding. Then, we can work to identify triggers and how that shows up in your life. With that information we can start understanding patterns. The patterns that most likely impact you and the people you care for. What I enjoy most about CBT, is that some of the smallest behavior changes can have the biggest impact. By learning problem solving skills, conflict resolution and communication skills, you can feel more confident. This makes decision making easier and ready for whatever else life throws at you! The goal is to get you to understand yourself a little better, develop self compassion and improve self esteem. If you can do that, managing symptoms of depression and anxiety and life as we know it, gets easier.
