As an active researcher in the mental health field, I have authored numerous first-author publications in the expressive arts.
I can offer real-world, evidence-based tools to help you manage your anxiety and mood disorders. My current research focuses on new and emerging tools for the treatment of anxiety, and I am dedicated to delivering the most effective and innovative services to support your mental health journey.
First session
The first session often involves gathering information about your history and presenting issues so that we can build your treatment plan. Then, we talk about your interests and a little bit about who you are. From that point, therapy builds momentum and there may be homework, tools, and field assignments to help you manage your conditions-all at your own pace.
Strengths
With over twenty years in practice, I’ve sat through thousands of sessions. I can offer you solid tools to help manage your stress, anxiety, trauma, and moods. I'm told that I'm very easy to talk to.
Ideal clients
I work best with clients who are committed to real change through concrete tools—not just conversation. They’re also motivated to practice outside of session and are open to creative, practical strategies that translate into everyday life. They value just enough guidance to help them arrive at their own solutions and are ready to accept change rather than resist it. They come prepared to do the work, often tracking topics in a journal or app prior to sessions in order to stay focused, productive, and efficient.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
I use an eclectic approach to treatment, drawing on Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), behaviorism, and existential theory.
