Hi, I'm Julie. Are you ready to be seen and feel supported through encouragement, validation, and understanding? You should start to feel lighter and more in control pretty quickly—you are no longer alone with what makes you sad, frustrated, insecure, or scared. You won't have to remind me of your past sessions. I have an eclectic, humanistic approach, which means you are an incredible human who matters. I personalize the style of therapy to you and your situation, pulling from different perspectives and modalities designed to meet your needs best. I welcome your feedback as we build a partnership for growth and healing.

First session

We are going to get to know each other a bit. We are not going to rush your process. You are going to feel supported, healthier for getting out what you have been holding in and you should feel encouraged after the session. I am excited to meet you and show up in a meaningful way in your life. We will have an intake assessment, a battery of questions about your history. Thanks for being patient with this. It helps immensely.

Strengths

My work isn't done until you have internal resolution. We will work together to identify what is working, what is not, and what you want to work on. I am warm, honest, and do not believe in wasting your time. I am strong in interpersonal dynamics, pattern recognition, and empathy. I now believe that my neurodivergence is a gift for me as a therapist. I rarely forget details, and I'm always prepared to offer you the best session.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Each modality has its strengths and weaknesses. I learned and use several modalities in my work, designed to be the approach that will work best for you and your situation. All approaches are designed to be helpful and growth-oriented. CBT helps people understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and reactions and teaches helpful coping strategies.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT works helps individuals manage a variety of mental health issues by promoting psychological flexibility and aligning actions with personal values.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness therapy combines mindfulness practices with therapeutic techniques to help individuals become more aware of the present moment. Mindfulness-based therapy reduces stress & anxiety by encouraging non-judgmental acceptance of thoughts & emotions. I am trained to be a mindfulness practitioner.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The person-centered approach encourages warmth and trust between client and therapist. It focuses on positive self-regard and self-awareness.

Julie is absolutely wonderful and refreshing in a world of therapists who aren't great at connecting with their clients. Can't wait to work with her more!
