Thank you for taking time to read my profile. Making the decision to start therapy takes courage and a desire to heal from past experiences or learn how to cope with mental health symptoms. I am a licensed clinical social worker which means I believe it is important to treat the whole person while treating for example, anxiety or depressive symptoms. Together we will process issues and form coping skills or plans to move forward. I am comfortable and effective working with people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life. I have two adult children, owned restaurants for 16 years, and experience taking care of aging parents. My education and life experience directly contributes to my ability to work with clients from all ages, race, LGBTQIA, religious background, or mental health condition.

First session

"Our first session is a collaborative one to ensure we are a good fit. We will balance getting to know you—your background, hobbies, and day-to-day life—with a structured clinical intake. Together, we will safely explore your medical history, current symptoms, and any safety concerns, ending with a shared plan for moving forward. If it agrees with the client, we will compare schedules and set the next appointment.

Strengths

My strength is meeting people where they are in the moment using different modalities to meet the client's goals. Some of the treatment options are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, exposure therapy, and behavioral therapy. Treating symptoms instead of a diagnosis is my preference but I have the ability to educate clients what diagnosis matches their symptoms. Clients also appreciate my ability to take inventory of symptoms to prepare them for appointments with providers to get the best service.

Ideal clients

My ideal client would be someone who ask questions and comes prepared to sessions with topics to discuss. The client responds very openly to questions with descriptions keeping the conversation flowing. They are open to being challenged, given suggestions, and doing homework. Clients who actively engage in sessions increase levels of therapeutic efficacy contributing to self-satisfaction and pride from doing the work themselves. Therapy is only successful when the client buys into the process 100%.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

During sessions, we will work on unproductive thought processes and redirect them in a positive and beneficial direction.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Therapy is beneficial for clients with issues from maladaptive situations we can find ourselves in from time to time. Clients also can benefit for situations needing community resources.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma Informed Care strategies help clients feel safe, builds self-esteem, which contributes to them learning how to advocate for themselves to no longer be a victim of trauma but a survivor of trauma.
