Hi! I am glad you're here! I am Heather and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor working with clients located in Ohio. I have 5 years of experience working with individuals that struggle with mood disorders, trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, and more. I use a variety of modalities in my practice to find what best works with each client.

I have been trained in EMDR which helps to desensitize and reprocess trauma. I have also completed trainings and use attachment theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

First session

Our first session is a "get to know you" type of session. This is a foundation session for me to get to know you, what you like, what you are looking for in therapy, your goals, and the things you struggle with. I will ask you questions and review your intake forms and work with you on a plan to reach your goals.

Strengths

I am always authentic with my clients. I want this to be a safe and comfortable space for you to share what is going on in your life and the best way to do that is by being myself. I bring compassion, empathy, and honesty.

Ideal clients

I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, life transitions, and boundaries. I hope to work alongside clients to overcome daily stress, find effective coping strategies, improve daily functioning, improve relationships, and work through trauma.

Attachment-based

I think relationships and attachment play a big role in how we function and can interact with others. I explore how early and current attachments have impacted clients over time.

EMDR

I have been trained in EMDR and use it to help clients desensitize and reprocess traumatic memories.
