Hello, I’m Dee! Nice to meet you. I’m an independently licensed therapist in the state of Indiana. I also hold compact privileges in Ohio and Minnesota. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Huntington University.

I use CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy techniques to help clients map out problem areas, stabilize symptoms, and address the thoughts and emotions that may be contributing to problem behaviors.

I am also a PhD candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program online at Grand Canyon University and an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). I use a person-centered approach to help you to better understand their emotions and build a foundation for lasting change. I also use mindfulness and art therapy techniques to help clients map out problem areas, stabilize symptoms, and address the thoughts and emotions that may be contributing to problem behaviors. We will also discuss our circles of control so that we are investing our energy wisely! Please reach out for availability. I am able to move things around to accommodate my clients. If there is a time you need, but don't see, let me know!

First session

The first session involves an intake assessment where I obtain information on why you’re seeking therapy. We will then discuss your symptoms and contributing factors in great detail. We will set goals and discuss my treatment approach and what to expect from the upcoming sessions. All children's appointments can be excused with a school note upon request. Arrangements can be made with a guidance counselor or school administrator to accommodate telehealth during school hours.

Strengths

I am a person-centered therapist who tailors treatment to the needs of my client. I have experience with many different modalities and pride myself in my ability to use what’s needed for client success.

Ideal clients

I have the most experience helping individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Women with self-esteem issues and relational issues have also reported significant improvements after treatment. Clients should come to sessions prepared to build skills in a non judgmental and supportive space. A growth mindset is highly encouraged! We will set goals and break those goals down into smaller objectives.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am a client-centered therapist who uses CBT as her primary approach. Mindfulness techniques may be used to stabilize initial symptoms. CBT is used to identify how thought, emotions, and actions connect. Symptoms are addressed through emotional validation and analyzing perspectives.
