I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and business owner of Renewed Joy Counseling, LLC. I help adults put their feelings into words and process their thoughts in a way that leads to more balanced, positive thinking. My hope is for clients to gain practical tools they can implement in their everyday life, to better their quality of life and live life to the fullest.

First session

In our first session, we'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy and outline what you'd like to focus on. This helps me get a clear understanding of your goals, so I can create an individualized treatment plan for you.

Strengths

I’m down-to-earth and use my insight to help clients gain awareness of their thought patterns. Sessions include reflection, discussion, and practical strategies that can be applied between sessions. My approach is goal-oriented and collaborative. I offer 60-minute telehealth sessions by video or phone, so clients can choose the option that feels most comfortable and convenient.

Ideal clients

I work best with adults who are already motivated to make changes but need encouragement and accountability to stay on track. My approach is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented to help you make meaningful progress. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection and ready to learn practical tools they can apply to their everyday life and create lasting change.

Treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT skills and trauma-focused workbooks to help clients better understand their emotional responses, build practical coping skills, and work through the impact of trauma in a structured and supportive way.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety. A favorite technique I use is "Putting Your Thoughts on Trial," where we look at the evidence for and against a thought to find a more balanced perspective.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT techniques to help clients step back from difficult thoughts and see them as thoughts rather than facts. This can make overwhelming thoughts feel less powerful and easier to manage.
