New to Grow
I have been a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina since 2020. I specialize in Crisis and Trauma, and I am certified in EMDR. I am also an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, and National Certified Counselor. I have experience with children, teens, and adults. My clinical approach is person centered. And I like to use modalities, including mindfulness, CBT, DBT, TF– CBT and CPT.
This is known as the intake session. It’s a great opportunity to get to know how your therapy sessions work. During our first session, we review the limits of confidentiality, discuss background information related to your clinical concerns, answer any questions you may have, and begin to develop a treatment plan based on your goals.
I have a passion for working with underserved populations. My life experience includes working with children as a behavioral support specialist, and as a dance teacher for 16 years. I am clinically trained as a specialist in crisis and trauma, and I worked as a crisis advocate, counselor, and clinical director of a domestic violence and sexual assault center for nearly a decade. I strongly believe in supporting and advocating for underserved populations.
Passionate about helping underserved populations, and those that suffered from abusive relationships or sexual assault. My ideal client is usually rediscovering their life after abuse, codependency, or infidelity. Many times these clients suffer from low self-esteem, negative beliefs, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and/or challenged by financial insecurity, homelessness, exploitation, manipulation, coercion, neglect, or other forms of control. These clients may be in any of the stages of change from precontemplation or ready to begin.
