I believe that everyone has inherent strength. While I can be direct and to the point, I understand that this conversation is about your life, not mine. I also believe in the power of laughter and that everyone is capable of leading their best life. I live in a multi dog/cat/parrot household and odds are good you will not just hear them but may occasionally see them. No worries they don’t judge and have been sworn to HIPAA secrecy.
First session
In our first session together, we'll take some time to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. We'll also work on creating a plan of care that aligns with your goals. I’m interested in understanding what you want to work on and what you expect from me as your therapist. We'll also discuss practical details like visits and scheduling to ensure they fit your needs.
Strengths
My strengths lie in knowing when to push, when to step back, and when to bring in a sense of humor. I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of people, and I’m always eager to learn more about others.
Ideal clients
My dream client what a question that is. Actually you meet with me, we talk we both feel we can do the hard work of therapy together. Well that’s not a dream but it’s definitely my ideal. And that’s what I love having in my schedule is just people who come to therapy even when it’s hard and do the work because let’s face it, that’s why we’re both here.
Treatment methods
Narrative
I love narrative therapy, we all have stories of our lives and so do those around us. This is how we not only view ourselves but how we view the world around us. In therapy we learn to tell a different story about ourselves one that is not as harsh, filled with more self love and caring. One that we can see where we can weave a softer ending.
Psychodynamic
I use this treatment often as I believe it helps you understand yourself better its the AHA moments
Sex Therapy
I am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, working towards my Sex Therapist certificate. I am qualified and comfortable working with couples and individuals on low sex, no sex relationships, redefining monogamy with or without the after effects of an affair. Changing gender and cultural roles, body image issues, sexual dysfunction, sex trauma and regaining pleasure after sexual trauma.
