Originally from New Jersey, I earned my B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I moved to New York City in 1997 and completed my MSW at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. In 2000, I completed a certification in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health. Immediately after moving to Florida later that year in 2002, I completed additional coursework at Barry University and obtained my social work licensure in Florida. I have worked with children, adolescents and young adults in several areas utilizing a diverse spectrum of training for 25 years. These include loss and bereavement, trauma, crisis, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders. I started my private practice in 2003 in Miami.

In 2000, I completed a certification in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health.

Using my background in several orientations and theories, along with experience gained over a long clinical social work career, I conduct comprehensive assessments that best address areas of emotional and behavioral concerns. I stay up to date on all the most effective training and information and aim to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment by meeting each individual where they are in their struggles and development. This process helps one discover the inherent strengths that allow change to happen ensuring best therapeutic results.

It is very important to me that clients feel comfortable with me. I ask questions to establish what is the perceived issues and to address any questions or concerns to development a solid treatment relationship.

I pride myself on the impact of my support for children, adolescents and adults of any background and stay up to date on the most innovative and effective evidence based forms of best practice strategies and techniques.

I have 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults and have worked in both New York and Florida. I have extensive training in trauma, loss and bereavement, anxiety and mood disorders. I am best positioned to work with individuals struggling with these types of issues and have worked in a wide range of settings including schools, foster care, hospitals and parenting.
