Welcome! I am glad you are here! Choosing counseling / therapy and asking for help is a big step and you will absolutely not regret it! I have worked with clients since 2002 and have been a licensed clinician since 2008. Prior to my Therapist career, I was a career Medical Service Corp Officer in the Army.

My focus as your guide throughout our journey together is to use evidence-based modalities to build skills and resiliency while simultaneously reducing or eliminating the stressors that brought you to therapy.

My focus as your guide throughout our journey together is to use evidence-based modalities to build skills and resiliency while simultaneously reducing or eliminating the stressors that brought you to therapy.

First session

The first session can be anxiety provoking, so we will take things as slow or as fast as you are comfortable. I want to get to know you, your culture, where you are from, your family, work and hobbies and of course what brought you to therapy today! I want to learn about what you have tried before and what your goals are for your therapy journey.

Strengths

I have decades of experience working with all age ranges and therapeutic concerns. I bring compassion, kindness, patiences and understanding within a non-judgmental framework to each session. Small and big traumas and frankly the toll of day to day life doesn't just fix itself overnight. I use evidenced based modalities and outcome measurement tools to help you see your progress.

Ideal clients

Clients who want to live their best lives, be the change they wish to see in the world and are ready to work hard in therapy trying out new ideas to find solutions. Slow and steady progress will get you there. You don't have to be Super Human every single day! Honesty is the best - I cannot help you on your journey if you don't feel like you can be truthful. I also don't expect you to divulge all your concerns in the first session or two. We will build rapport and trust. Time takes time.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Learning healthy coping skills, reducing stressors and finding ways to be true to our authentic selves will be my focus on your therapy journey.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Depression, Anxiety, Mood Swings, Substance Abuse, Trauma and Grief and Loss can all impact our daily lives. DBT is an excellent modality for working through these challenges and learning to live our best lives!

She's just very easy to talk to and allowed me to ramble then we dissect the parts.
