Katherine spent the majority of her therapeutic career in a community based setting meeting with youths impacted by substance abuse, alcoholism, mental health and co occurring disorders within their homes and community’s. Katherine has worked with these youth and their families to help mend the ties that substance use has broken. Before starting her own practice, Katherine was a school social worker for youth and young adults with emotional, cognitive and other health impairments.
Many people view therapy as sitting on a leather sofa and recounting their issues to an old man or women staring at you behind half-lowered glasses, giving you a judgmental look that you can feel in your soul. Katherine aims to break that therapy stigma by creating a warm, friendly, inviting environment that feels like you are sitting down with an old friend.
Therapy is a unique and individual journey. I believe my greatest strength is that you will never have the same session as someone else. I do not believe in cookie-cutter therapy. Instead, I give you the reins and help guide you to the goals you want to accomplish.
Katherine is a DBT, trauma-informed therapist who seeks to connect with her clients through music, art, and other forms of self-expression and healing. Katherine is LGBTQ+ friendly and welcomes individuals, families, couples, children ages 6-17, and adults 18 +.

Katherine is very nice. I like the way she makes talking comfortable. She is very helpful on how to look at a situation differently. which is very helpful for me.

I'm really enjoying my sessions. Each week I get support for the issues I'm managing along with action items to help me work on those issues outside of therapy and recommendations for resources that can help me with whatever is going on. I feel heard and understood but also empowered to make the changes I want to see in my life.

I know it was just the first session and mostly intake, but Katherine was super easy to talk to. I was really nervous going in, but she made it feel comfortable and natural, like talking with a friend. I didn’t feel like I had to water down how I normally talk. She even called me out (kindly) on things I tend to gloss over. I’m really glad I found her and looking forward to continuing.
