I’m Jessica Gonzalez, a licensed mental health counselor and PhD Candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision. I specialize in ADHD-focused therapy for adults, especially professional women, graduate students, working professionals, and people diagnosed later in life or wondering whether ADHD may explain longstanding difficulties. You may be dealing with procrastination, task paralysis, disorganization, time blindness, inconsistent follow-through, emotional dysregulation, rejection sensitivity, masking, anxiety, or burnout. I provide therapy in English and Spanish using a culturally responsive, neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach. My work includes ADHD screening, assessment-informed treatment, diagnostic clarification within my professional scope, executive-functioning support, and practical systems for daily functioning. We can also examine whether anxiety, trauma, depression, sleep difficulties, substance use, or burnout overlap with or resemble ADHD.
In our first session, we will focus on understanding what is happening in your daily life and what you want help changing. I will ask about current ADHD-related symptoms, developmental and school history, work patterns, relationships, sleep, emotional regulation, substance use, and strategies you have already tried. We will look closely at functional impact, including organization, planning, time management, task initiation, follow-through, and the demands of work, school, parenting, or home. When appropriate, I may use ADHD screening tools and gather additional information to support assessment-informed treatment and diagnostic clarification within my professional scope. Screening does not guarantee a diagnosis. We will also consider anxiety, trauma, depression, sleep difficulties, and burnout when symptoms overlap. Before the session ends, we will identify priorities and create a collaborative treatment plan with practical next steps. Accommodation documentation may be considered later when clinically appropriate and supported by sufficient assessment and treatment information; documentation and approval are not guaranteed.
I bring warmth, directness, careful pattern recognition, and a practical approach to therapy. I pay attention to the difference between knowing what to do and being able to start, organize, regulate emotions, or follow through. Rather than offering generic productivity advice, I help you test systems for planning, time awareness, task initiation, emotional regulation, and recovery after setbacks, then adjust them to fit your actual life. My approach is culturally responsive, neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based. I use CBT, DBT-informed therapy, motivational interviewing, and practical skills-based interventions to help you understand patterns without turning every difficulty into a personal failure. I can be compassionate and validating while still naming avoidance, perfectionism, masking, or unhelpful cycles directly. Therapy can be provided in English or Spanish.
I work best with adults whose ADHD, anxiety, burnout, or workplace experiences are interfering with how they function. You may be a professional woman, graduate student, working professional, or someone recognizing ADHD patterns later in life. Perhaps you struggle with procrastination, task paralysis, time blindness, forgetfulness, inconsistent follow-through, emotional intensity, or anxiety about your performance. You may also feel depleted after prolonged occupational stress, fear disciplinary action, or notice trauma responses after workplace bullying, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or another distressing experience. You want help understanding the pattern, not another list of generic productivity tips. Our work can focus on executive functioning, anxiety management, emotional regulation, rebuilding confidence, preparing to return to work, and creating practical systems for work, school, relationships, parenting, and daily responsibilities.

I use CBT to help you identify thought and behavior patterns that reinforce procrastination, avoidance, workplace anxiety, panic, or self-criticism. We connect those patterns to specific situations and test practical changes that support clearer thinking, steadier action, and more effective responses at work, school, and home.
I use DBT-informed skills to address emotional intensity, rejection sensitivity, distress, impulsive reactions, and difficulty recovering after conflict or stress. You can practice concrete ways to regulate emotions, tolerate discomfort, communicate effectively, and return to a task or workplace interaction with greater intention.
Motivational interviewing is useful when you want change but feel exhausted, uncertain, or stuck. I help you clarify what matters, understand barriers, and choose manageable next steps. This approach can support follow-through with new routines, treatment decisions, workplace changes, medical leave, or a gradual return to work.
Trauma-informed care helps us understand how harmful workplace experiences may affect concentration, trust, emotional regulation, avoidance, and your sense of security. We focus on stabilization, recognizing triggers, and rebuilding choice without forcing disclosure. We also consider where trauma responses may overlap with ADHD, anxiety, or burnout.
Strength-based therapy helps us identify abilities, values, interests, and coping strategies that remain available even when symptoms or workplace experiences have affected your confidence. We use those strengths to build realistic systems for organization, follow-through, communication, and recovery rather than forcing approaches that do not fit your needs.
