I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with complex and high acuity mental health needs. My work is grounded in trauma informed and trauma responsive care, with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQI+, neurodivergent clients, and individuals in rural communities. I work across the lifespan, including children (7+), adults, older adults, families, and couples. My approach is collaborative and empowering, centered on the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives and require my clinical expertise. I often describe my role as “working myself out of a job” to help clients build the insight, skills, and confidence needed to advocate for themselves and navigate systems independently. As a trauma specialist, I tailor evidence based interventions to each client’s identities, needs, strengths, and goals. My primary approaches include Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-(EMDRIA certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems informed interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure based strategies, mindfulness, and other approaches as clinically appropriate. I adapt treatment for neurodivergent clients and clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities because therapy should adjust to the person and not require the person to adjust to therapy. I am continually shaped by the courage, insight, and lived experiences clients bring into our work. Every advanced training, specialty, certification, and state license reflect lessons learned from clients. I carry their trust, stories, and influence into every session with gratitude and responsibility. The first few sessions are about connection, clarity, and fit. We’ll spend time getting to know what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any relevant history, while also exploring what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past. I approach these sessions as a continuous two-way process. I am assessing whether or not I can meet your needs. You are also determining if I am the right therapist for you. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable, and you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your experiences are respected.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to build strong therapeutic rapport. I understand that meaningful change begins with feeling safe, seen, and understood. I also bring flexibility and depth in my clinical work, drawing from multiple evidence based approaches that integrate well with trauma focused care. This allows me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Additionally, I am skilled at balancing validation with accountability supporting clients with compassion while also helping them move toward meaningful, actionable change.
I am best positioned to serve individuals who are navigating complex, high acuity mental health needs and are ready to engage in meaningful, sustainable change. Many of my clients are balancing multiple layers of identity, stress, and lived experience particularly those from BIPOC, LGBTQI+, neurodivergent, and rural communities who are seeking a space that feels both affirming and grounded in real-world understanding. Many of my clients report experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, burnout, or difficulty navigating relationships and systems. They are often insightful and motivated but may feel stuck in cycles of shame, self-doubt, or overwhelm. Many are looking not just for symptom relief, but for deeper healing, self-understanding, and the ability to move through life with greater confidence and agency. I am particularly well suited for individuals and families who value a collaborative, empowering therapeutic relationship and are open to building practical skills alongside deeper reflective work. My approach supports clients who want to strengthen emotional regulation, reconnect with their bodies, clarify their values, and develop the tools needed to advocate for themselves and create lasting, meaningful change.

My work is grounded in a relational framework, where the therapeutic relationship itself is a central tool for healing. I prioritize building trust, safety, and authenticity, particularly for clients who have experienced systemic harm or marginalization. Through this lens, I help clients explore patterns in relationships, attachment, and identity, supporting them in developing healthier connections with themselves and others.
I use DBT skills to help clients build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. This is especially valuable for clients managing high acuity symptoms or navigating the emotional complexities that can as they process life such as shame, all or nothing thinking, or setbacks. DBT provides concrete tools that support both stability and long-term change.
I incorporate somatic techniques to help clients reconnect with their bodies in safe and empowering ways. For many clients, this work supports nervous system regulation, body awareness, and healing beyond cognitive insight.
ACT informs my work by helping clients clarify their values and build psychological flexibility. I support clients in moving away from shame-based or avoidance-driven patterns and toward meaningful, values aligned living. This approach is particularly helpful for sustaining motivation and self compassion throughout behavior change.
In my work with couples, I draw from Gottman informed interventions to strengthen communication, increase emotional attunement, and reduce conflict patterns. I support partners in building skills for repair, connection, and shared meaning, which can be especially important when navigating life transitions, health changes, or shifting identities within relationships.

On my second visit, I realized I felt no connection and was not being listened to. I did not like her style of therapy. Very wordy , spent very little of our time getting to know me and what i was there for, was and was overly hung up on the intake form, repeating my numbers weren't adding up on my anxiety and depression questionnaire. I told her numerous times I did my best to fill it out honestly. Strange and negative experience.

Krishana is evidence-based, intelligent, and empowering straight out of the gate. If you believe knowledge is power, Krishana is a great therapist. She equips patients with knowledge and provides extensive psychoeducation to support understanding, normalization, and acceptance.
