(she/her)
I work alongside my clients to empower them to choose their own future, and find the path to the future within themselves. To empower my clients, I utilize an eclectic approach based on cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and internal family systems. I received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and have worked in both inpatient and partial hospitalization settings as well as private practice for a total of 5 years. I'm a native Texan but I also lived in Chicago for 8 years before moving back to my home state.
If you choose to reach out to me, we’ll start with a 15 minute consultation to discuss your goals for therapy and what approach might work best for you. Then, you are free to decide whether you want to try working together on choosing your future. If you'd like to see if we can work together, please feel free to reach out. I can't wait to meet you!
I believe that my clients steer the "therapy car" in the direction they need the most, and I do my best to help them clarify where they want the therapy car to go and how they would most like to get there.
Folks who come to me for therapy might experience thought spirals that disconnect them from their emotions. Folks who come to me for therapy might believe that they’re not enough in some way, or that negative emotions mean there is something wrong with them. Folks who come to me for therapy might learn that not only are they not alone in feeling this way, but that they are more enough than they believe.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is effective for anxiety, and I have taught psychoeducation classes with this theory.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I utilize mindfulness in conjunction with other theories to assist in regulating intense emotions that show up in therapy and to build the therapeutic relationship.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is particularly helpful in working with intense feelings of shame or unworthiness. When we look at parts of ourselves that cause us distress, we can bring cohesion to ourselves.

I can't recommend this therapist enough. Her skillful use of parts work and ability to reframe how I understand my emotions has been transformative. She creates a non-judgmental space where I feel genuinely seen, even when exploring difficult topics and feelings. As someone who needs to understand the "why" behind techniques, I appreciate how she explains her approaches, making the process more meaningful and effective for me. Victoria is empathetic, authentic, and quite funny...
