I believe everyone has certain abilities and gifts that lead them to their calling. With that in mind, I became a therapist because I wanted to help people achieve their full potential in a world where too many people feel unsupported and alone. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families and groups who are open to new ways of thinking and being, and motivated to change. Side note: I am an avid sports fanatic (including some unique ones; curling is one of my favorites!), and i am an enthusiastic dog parent. While working with my clients, I strive to provide them a relational space where they feel inspired, encouraged, and empowered to overcome their challenges. I have significant experience and training in Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy and EMDR, and work well with individuals and families dealing with long-term and complex issues.

First session

My goal when working with my clients is to give them a space where they can feel comfortable and secure enough to confront the feelings and problem behaviors that are negatively impacting their lives. From there, I work with my clients to feel empowered and confident enough to begin making the changes they feel that will lead to them having a happy, healthy life.

Strengths

I have experience with working with clients struggling with the following: Anxiety, depression, Performance anxiety (sports), Life transitions, self-esteem, self-harming, mood disorders and personality disorders.

I've been seeing Josh for quite a while, and I am so grateful for his guidance on my journey. He's very friendly, welcoming, nonjudgmental, and patient. I've always felt supported, even when discussing very difficult topics. With his guidance, I've made many lasting changes in my life. I'll forever be grateful for our work.

It’s not easy talking to someone new, but Josh definitely made it quite simple for my first meeting with him.

Josh has been my therapist for a while now and I really can’t imagine seeing anyone else. He’s a great listener and I feel like I’ve grown emotionally and mentally since he became my therapist. I would highly recommend Josh if you’re a young adult looking for someone to talk to about life and the struggles that come along with it.
