Misty Bamberg
Misty Bamberg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (GA) and a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice (SC). She earned her MSW in social work at the University of South Carolina.
I am passionate about initiating the therapy process by empathetically and non-judgmentally meeting people exactly where and as they are.
Misty has experience treating a variety of disorders and conditions to include depression and anxiety; managing stress; building self-esteem and confidence; and coping with life changes to include grief and loss.
First session
Initially, I take time to ensure that you are comfortable as we become familiar with each other. I will then help you not only identify, but also understand the issues/disorders you may be experiencing. I will strive to ensure that my client's therapeutic takeaways include the recognition of individual strengths, development of coping skills and the active seeking of personal growth and empowerment.
Strengths
I am passionate about initiating the therapy process by empathetically and non-judgmentally meeting people exactly where and as they are. I also believe it is critical to continually work to destigmatize mental illness and the unique responses of individuals to human adversity.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
While I also utilize other therapeutic approaches, CBT is my most commonly used, evidence-based treatment modality. I have effectively used CBT in a number of settings, for various issues across a wide demographic.
