Have you been feeling little or no enjoyment in the things that used to bring you joy? Do you feel stuck in negative thought patterns or easily irritated? Maybe you are longing for close relationships with others, but once conflict arises or someone begins to be vulnerable, you become scared, which in turn leads you to pull away from those you love.

My greatest strengths are seeing the beautiful gifts and gold put into each person and drawing that out of them as while challenging them not to accept the the way of life or mindsets that has inhibited them for years.

My aim is to join with you in your therapeutic journey and merely facilitate the process of healing, as I believe each person has the potential and strength within them to overcome whatever adversity they have experienced. I look forward to knowing and understanding each person’s heart, as there is so much beauty, victory, and joy waiting to be unlocked within you all!

First session

The first session is where you will begin to recognize and see the things that have blinded you to the reality of who you are and discuss and plan the strategies that will be utilized as I come alongside you on this journey of dicovering core of who you were made to be and stepping into complete freedom and fullness of life.

Ideal clients

I primarily offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address those traumatic experiences that cause you to feel stuck or hindered in your everyday life. I also incorporate a Christian spiritual healing technique called SOZO for those who desire this. I am passionate about working with people who have experienced developmental trauma, especially sexual abuse, which is often compounded, leading one to develop complex PTSD in adulthood. I also have extensive experience with postpartum, perinatal, and birth trauma in both men and women. Often postpartum depression is unnoticed in men as they pull away from their partner and become more involved in work, straining their relationship and leading to increased risk of unhealthy habits or addictions to cope. I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy as my main theoretical approaches, but also include somatic body-centered techniques, ecotherapy, various arts, Gestalt, and mindfulness/play therapy based on the needs of each client. I have worked with clients who were sex trafficked; had substance, sex, eating disorder, and other kinds of addictions; borderline personality disorder; domestic violence perpetrators and victims; PTSD; veterans; grief and loss; various couples including those who have experienced infidelity; children that range from the age of four to 17 years old; foster care system; selective mutism; relational issues; life transitions; traumatic grief and loss; and adult women who suffered from child sexual abuse and domestic violence.

I love that Kristen brings a therapy approach that's rooted in mind, body, and spirit. Each part is interconnected, and so many therapy. models I have tried have neglected the body part or the spirit part. I really appreciate her inquisitiveness and flexibility to allow our sessions to unfold at a pace that doesn't feel forced . I have felt held, seen, and encouraged within each session with her. She is a gift!

My first session with Kristen was great. She’s very warm and kind. She made me feel comfortable as a Christian to speak about faith and focus on my spiritual needs in a unique way. I look forward to working more with her.
