Sharon Bruner
Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in the helping profession for 22 years and have experience in a variety of areas that range from depression to couples counseling. I have worked with people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize and shift negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be holding them back.
My therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which concentrates on realizing that your thought patterns affect your emotions, which, in turn, can affect your behaviors. I look forward to working with you to help you to eliminate or control troubling symptoms so that you can function better and can increase well-being and healing.
First session
In a first therapy session, I like to create a warm and welcoming environment where the client feels comfortable sharing. I’ll start by introducing myself, explaining my therapeutic approach, and discussing confidentiality to ensure trust. We'll explore the reasons that brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. I’ll ask about you background, including family, relationships, and life experiences, to better understand your perspective. Together, we’ll set the groundwork for future sessions and establish a pace that feels right for you as the client, ensuring the space feels collaborative and safe.
