I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of licensed clinical experience specializing in individual therapy for adults. I have served over 26 years in the military administering mental health services.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 21 years of experience in the mental health field, Over 16 years as a social worker, and over 26 years of military service.

I help individuals struggling with life's challenges, such as workplace issues, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, past and present traumas, and life transitions. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and goals. My role is to support you in your journey and give you real, honest feedback. My experience in the military as a commissioned officer and working in government as a civilian program manager and action officer uniquely prepare me to help you navigate workplace dynamics, systemic racism and workplace stress.

First session

During the first session, you will be in the driver’s seat. I will ask you about who you are as a person before we talk about what brought you to therapy. You can tell me as little or as much about yourself as you feel comfortable. You will have space to express your goals and expectations and you will learn about the therapeutic process, limits of confidentiality, and boundaries. We will discuss the regular rhythm of appointments that works for us both.

Strengths

First and foremost, I am going to listen to you without judgment and remember the details of your story. This has proven vital in my experience. You can talk about whatever is on your mind without codeswitching or sugarcoating anything. I like to use humor in our sessions and support you as you discover what thoughts you might have been having for years based on the unique experiences you've had and how those thoughts help or hinder you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 21 years of experience in the mental health field, Over 16 years as a social worker, and over 26 years of military service. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, trauma-informed care, Supportive Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My approach is client-centered, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions, challenges, and obtain goals. I have decades of experience working with people experiencing Adjustment Difficulties, Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Management, Burnout, Emotional Regulation, and Personal development.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to serve clients who might share similar background and experiences to my own and are interested in being active in their own mental health care and recovery. I have always believed in meeting people where they are at and creating a "no judgment zone". I have found that being clear, genuine, and down-to-earth in communication is the most effective way to create positive change. I am going to be attentive to the details leading to your distress and give you personalized feedback. I look forward to getting to know you as a person.

I love how warm of a welcome I received from Mrs. Fletcher. She let me express myself without Judgement and was very supportive towards my concerns.

I really enjoy having Leah as my provider. She’s lighthearted and super easy to talk to. It feels like chatting with someone who genuinely gets you. She takes the time to understand where you’re coming from and explains why you might be feeling a certain way, which really helps things click. She’s realistic and supportive, celebrates the small wins, and gives practical life tips you can actually use. I always leave our sessions feeling heard and a little more grounded.

I am so happy that I happened upon Leah she listens to me. Asking me what I want from our sessions. Not explaining to me how she feels they need to go. She provides feedback after having allowed me to express my feelings. I have never looked forward to speaking with a therapist until now.
