About me

I believe therapy is meant to be a space of mutual collaboration, help work towards and help understand those aspects of your life that motivated you to seek guidance. I believe that each situation is unique, just like the individuals involved. I embrace multiple modalities that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Self-Compassion. I thus embrace a client-centric approach of unconditional positive regard where the goal is for you to embrace your inner strength, leading to your desired clinical outcomes. You may be someone who appears strong and capable on the outside while privately carrying stress, trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or the pressure of always having to hold everything together. I work with adults of all genders, and over the years, I have gained extensive experience helping men address the concerns that often matter most to them. My work with men includes navigating relationship and communication difficulties, divorce or separation, fatherhood, work-related stress, anger, emotional isolation, loss of identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, and the pressure to remain strong while struggling internally. I understand that many men have been taught to suppress vulnerability or solve problems alone. Therapy with me is practical, respectful, and judgment-free—a place where you can speak honestly without feeling criticized or misunderstood. As a South Asian therapist, I also understand how culture, family expectations, identity, immigration experiences, and intergenerational patterns can influence mental health. I welcome South Asian clients, veterans, active-duty service members, and individuals coping with PTSD, military-related experiences, major life transitions, and relationship concerns. My approach is warm, direct, culturally responsive, and focused on meaningful change. Together, we will understand the patterns keeping you stuck, strengthen your coping and communication skills, and help you move forward with greater confidence, peace, and clarity. You do not have to navigate everything alone.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The goal is to work with families and couples to nurture change and development. Problems are viewed as patterns that need adjusting rather than solely within the individual. "when one member struggles , the entire system is affected ".

Positive Psychology

The goal becomes to intentionally focus on what makes life worth living, such as strengths, meaning, resilience and well being. Secondary to this will be how to fix problems and reduce stress. Boosting Positive Emotions via gratitude, journals and mindfulness is an example

Supportive

The Goal is to provide emotional support, strengthening coping mechanisms, and helping individuals maintain or regain their functioning and stability especially during difficult times. The Focus remains on the "Present " and grounded in here and now

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy approach that works with ones strengths to help create the future you desire. We will briefly focus on the present situation or event that is creating stress , worry, sadness in your life , identify strengths you possess and create "that " future.
