Hello There ! My name is Tanya Edwards. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have accumulated over 15 years of clinical experiences with diverse populations. My practice focus areas include issues attached to depression, grief, distorted self-image, career challenges, parental caregiving, friendship transitions, and entering new life stages. My practice is geared towards empowerment for growth, sustainment, and more growth!
The first session is a get to know/feel one another out session. There needs to be a sort of mutual feeling of congruency to move forward. During this time, we pose questions to one another and hopefully, we learn about one another. We identify needed areas of healing and growth. Information gathered in the initial session is used to plan the work!!!
Our sessions will consist of evidenced based mechanisms that promote healing, growth, sustainment and ideally more growth. Expect support, nurturing, and empathy in a non judgemental space coupled with a few laughs.
I enthusiastically embrace work with middle age to elderly individuals managing grief and or other loss in all forms (intimate relationships. platonic friendships). I also do well with women's issues, and issues unique to members of marginalized populations. I love providing individuals with support and tools for rebirth. Therapy goals attached to growth after and or during change and or painful experiences are the terrain I manage quite well.

Tanya truly listens and considers my thoughts without being judgmental or "preachy." Her "correction" is gentle, but firm. She is relatable. I really like her,

Tanya is the first therapist I’ve ever had, and I truly found her when I needed her most. She is warm, down to earth, and genuinely listens without judgment. Her advice feels natural, realistic, and easy to apply. She also has a great sense of humor, which makes sessions feel comfortable and uplifting. I always feel safe being myself with her and look forward to every session. I’m so grateful for her support and highly recommend her.
