Authentic

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked with clients navigating life’s plot twists, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ identity, and grief, basically all the moments where things don’t go as planned and your brain decides to add commentary.

I show up authentically, I’m honest (in a kind but real way), and yes, I’m a little nosy—but the helpful kind that’s genuinely curious about how your brain works and why you do what you do.

My approach is grounded in both clinical experience and lived experience, including the loss of a baby, being late diagnosed with ADHD, and managing chronic illness, all of which pushed me to learn deeply so I could show up more fully for my clients. I tend to meet people in the messy middle, where things are real, a little complicated, and still very workable.

First session

The first session is basically a “let’s see if we vibe” meeting. We’ll get to know each other, talk through your history, what’s going on right now, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, without it feeling like an interrogation. By the end, we’re figuring out if this feels like a good fit and if I’m the right person to walk alongside you in whatever you’re working through.

Strengths

One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is that I’m very human about all of this. I show up authentically, I’m honest (in a kind but real way), and yes, I’m a little nosy—but the helpful kind that’s genuinely curious about how your brain works and why you do what you do. I’m not here to sit quietly and nod the whole time, I’m here to understand you, ask the questions that actually get somewhere, and help you make sense of things in a way that feels real and useful.

Ideal clients

My ideal therapy client is open-minded and willing to explore new perspectives, even when it feels unfamiliar. They value honesty and are open to building trust, both in the therapeutic process and within themselves. Most importantly, they bring a sense of curiosity about their own thoughts, patterns, and experiences, which allows for deeper insight and meaningful growth. I bring authenticity and hope for that to be reciprocated.

Treatment methods

EMDR

Over the past five years, I have used EMDR effectively via telehealth, allowing clients to process trauma, anxiety, and depression from the comfort of their own space. Using virtual bilateral stimulation and guided protocols, clients can safely reprocess distressing experiences without being in the office.

Always love my sessions with Amber so grateful I found a therapist who understands rather than someone who just got a certificate

Amber is super easy to talk to. I was really nervous because I don’t ask for help from anyone but she made me feel like I was talking to someone I grew up with.
