Hi, I’m Marie — a therapist who believes that change is always possible, no matter where you are in life. My goal is to help you feel better emotionally, think more clearly, and move toward a future that feels fulfilling and peaceful. In our sessions, we’ll work together to understand what’s been holding you back and find practical ways to move forward. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions—and teach you tools to shift negative thinking. I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress. I often work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or major life changes—like adjusting after a loss, a new diagnosis, or changes that come with getting older. My approach is supportive and empowering. I want you to feel heard, encouraged, and equipped with the tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence and hope. As an immigrant and a bilingual therapist speaking both English and French, I understand the importance of culture, identity, and belonging. This lived experience allows me to better connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and support them through challenges related to identity, adjustment, and navigating different cultural expectations. My background helps me approach therapy with openness, cultural sensitivity, and a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

I also use a solution-focused approach, which means we’ll focus on your strengths, celebrate what’s working, and create small, realistic steps that bring real progress.

First session

The first session is primarily about getting to know each other, establishing rapport, and setting the groundwork for future sessions. It's a safe space for you to open up and begin your healing journey. Your comfort and well-being are my priorities, and I'm here to support you in reaching your therapeutic goals.

Strengths

My approach is compassionate, genuine, and centered on meeting you where you are. I enjoy working with young adults and older adults who may be navigating life transitions, difficult circumstances, or moments of crisis. Whether you are feeling isolated, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or simply struggling to reconnect with yourself or the people around you, you do not have to navigate it alone. I will create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I believe that you already carry strengths and abilities within you, even when life makes them difficult to see. My role is not to tell you who you should be, but to walk alongside you, help you understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and develop practical tools to move forward. Together, we can work through the challenges you are facing, build greater confidence and self-awareness, and create meaningful, lasting change—at a pace that feels right for you. It would be my privilege to be part of that journey.

Ideal clients

I work with young adults and adults who are navigating life transitions, career changes, and challenges with work-life balance. I also support individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as those struggling with mood disorders and anxiety. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck, but are open to exploring their thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive space. They are willing to receive feedback and guidance, even when things feel difficult, and are motivated to better understand themselves. My ideal client is someone who is looking for support, personal growth, and meaningful change—whether they are adjusting to a new phase of life, healing from past experiences, managing stress, or trying to find a healthier balance. Together, we focus on building insight, developing practical coping skills, and creating a path forward that feels more stable and fulfilling.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. In our sessions, we will work together to identify thought patterns and beliefs that might be contributing to your difficulties. By understanding this connection, we can target specific areas for change.

Multicultural

I help you draw upon your cultural strengths and resources to address your mental health challenges. I also acknowledge that people from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds may have unique perspectives, values, and experiences that impact their mental health and well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I provide a supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic environment, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT emphasizes your strengths and resources, helping you develop a clearer understanding of your goals and how to achieve them. My role is to guide and support you through the process of identifying and implementing solutions to your problems. This approach can be highly efficient and empowering for clients.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care is about creating a therapeutic environment that fosters safety, empowerment, and collaboration. It allows you to address the traumatic experiences at your own pace and in a way that promotes healing and recovery while minimizing re-traumatization.

She was amazing and I would love for her to continue to take me on as a client. Just hurt just being there listening and giving me positive feedback and positive things and just reading me and knowing how I’m feeling. Thank you so much again.
