Nobody comes to therapy because they need someone to tell them to “think positive.” They come because they’re exhausted. Tired of anxiety or trauma calling the shots. Tired of burnout, addiction, or chaotic relationship patterns running the show. Tired of just surviving on autopilot. If you're looking for someone to hand you generic platitudes or passively nod while you vent, I am not your therapist. I work with people who are ready to actually change things. Life is complicated enough; getting real help shouldn’t be. As a dual-licensed therapist (LPC & LCDC), I specialize in complex trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and mood disorders. My approach is straightforward, down-to-earth, and entirely BS-free. We’ll uncover the "why" behind what’s keeping you stuck, but we heavily focus on the "what now" with practical tools you can actually use in real life. I offer direct feedback, honest accountability, and zero clinical fluff. We won't just talk in circles about your past; we’ll untangle the chaos and build concrete strategies so your progress doesn't stay trapped in our sessions. Therapy isn't a quick checkbox or a single-session magic wand. It takes commitment. If you are ready to be called out on the patterns keeping you stuck, roll up your sleeves, and build a life that actually feels like yours, you’ll feel right at home here.

A lot of the people I work with are used to being the strong one for everyone else while silently falling apart behind the scenes.

First session

Let’s be honest… starting therapy can feel intimidating, but I don't believe in interrogation-style intakes. You aren't going to have to spill your deepest, darkest trauma in the first 60 minutes unless you want to. Our first session is about laying the groundwork. I’ll want to hear what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to change. If your answer is, “Honestly… I don’t even know where to begin,” we can work with that. I’ll ask questions, you’ll ask me questions, and we’ll figure out what’s been keeping you stuck. My goal is for you to leave that hour knowing exactly what my vibe is, having a concrete idea of our next steps, and feeling confident about whether I’m the right fit to help you do the work.

Strengths

I bring a BS-free, completely authentic approach to every session. I am not the blank-slate therapist who just smiles and asks, “And how does that make you feel?” I bring direct feedback, lived experience, and a grounded energy that naturally repels manipulators. My job is to help you sort through the noise, connect the dots everyone else misses, and see things from a perspective you may have never considered. One quote I come back to often is, “You can’t change the past, but you can change your relationship to it.” We can’t rewrite what happened, but we can change how it controls your life today. Most importantly, this is a space where you never have to edit yourself. You don’t have to have it all together or worry about saying the "right" thing. If you cuss like a sailor, I'll be right there cussing with you. I want you to show up exactly as you are, chaos and all, because real healing requires real talk.

Ideal clients

You’re probably the person everyone else leans on, the problem solver who keeps everything moving even when you’re running on fumes. From the outside, you look like you’ve got it all together. On the inside, you’re completely exhausted. Maybe your ADHD or anxiety won’t let your brain slow down. Maybe trauma still sneaks into your relationships in ways you don’t fully understand. Maybe you’ve spent so long surviving that you aren't sure what thriving even looks like anymore. I work best with people who are ready to stop intellectualizing their feelings and start actually changing their patterns. You don’t have to have all the answers right now, but you do need the willingness to be honest, look at the hard stuff, and take accountability for your healing. We will celebrate your wins, laugh when life gets ridiculous, and tackle the messy parts head-on.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT naturally finds its way into many of my sessions because our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected. Rather than handing you worksheets or using a one-size-fits-all formula, I weave these concepts into our conversations in a way that feels natural. Together, we’ll slow things down, explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and find practical ways to respond differently so you’re not just surviving on autopilot anymore.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Life can feel overwhelming when emotions are running the show. I naturally incorporate DBT skills into sessions to help clients manage intense emotions, navigate stressful situations, strengthen relationships, and respond instead of simply react. We focus on building practical skills that fit your everyday life, so you’re better equipped to handle challenges long after the session ends.

Motivational Interviewing

Change isn’t always as simple as deciding to do something differently. Part of you may be ready to move forward, while another part feels scared, uncertain, or stuck. I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore those mixed feelings without pressure or judgment. Rather than telling you what you should do, we’ll work together to uncover what truly matters to you and build motivation that comes from within.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe the best therapy starts with a genuine connection. Before real change can happen, people need to feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to pretend you’ve got everything figured out. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you while having honest conversations that encourage growth without judgment.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma can shape the way we think, feel, respond to stress, and connect with others, often without us realizing it. I approach therapy with the understanding that many of the behaviors people struggle with today once served a purpose. Instead of asking, “What’s wrong with you?” we’ll explore, “What happened, and how has it shaped you?” Healing isn’t about erasing the past. It’s about understanding its impact, building new ways to cope, and remembering that “You can’t change the past, but you can change your relationship to it.”
