My name is Dr. Olushola Bakare, and my work centers on helping people recognize the strengths they already carry. Just as a fish is built to swim and a bird to fly, I believe each of us has our own natural way of moving through life, and my role is to help you find and lean into yours.

I do not complete disability forms (Social Security, work excuse, FMLA, Court papers/legal papers, emotional support letters, etc).

I work with adults and older adults who are ready to feel more grounded, confident, and understood, in a space that is safe, warm, and free of judgment. To help make sure we are the right fit from the start, I want to be upfront that my practice does not currently include couples counseling, medication management, or completing disability, FMLA, or legal paperwork. I work with adults 18 years and older. If any of these are part of what you are looking for, I am happy to help you find a provider whose practice is built around that support.

First session

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and then dive into the reason why an appointment is made. This will help us to collaboratively create a treatment plan homework is assigned and we round up with questions and answers and follow-up appointment will be made.

Strengths

Shifting our mindset and rewriting our script are my passions.

Ideal clients

I work with any client who is willing to make a change in any sphere of their life, career, marriage, and relationship. My client wants to make the change, "tired of being tried," but some of my clients do not have the tools or have tools but feel stuck. They feel stuck, overwhelmed, tired, anxious, and depressed. We will work together to get to our goals.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, Christian counseling, compassion therapy, collaboration therapy, and faith-based therapy, and sex therapy

Christian Counseling

faith-based therapy to help manage life stressors and empower the client using their faith

Narrative

Collaborating and helping my client to rewrite their narrative is my joy

Sex Therapy

Helping the client to manage sexual behaviors or sexual disorder in a safe space

Being that this was my first time ever speaking to a psychologist, I really enjoyed my Session with Dr. Bakare. She made me feel very comfortable when talking about my issues. I’m looking forward to my next session.

I've had three sessions with Dr. Ola and she has helped me recognize my challenges and reflect on them on a deep level, even this early on. She has a lot of wisdom to share and guides me to come to my own conclusions. I'm excited to continue working with her more!
