Hello! I’m a licensed counselor with over 10 years of experience in the field. My specialties include working with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress, and compulsive and obsessive behaviors. I use a holistic approach that incorporates techniques such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy.

My specialties include working with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress, and compulsive and obsessive behaviors.

I often find that my clients benefit from my experience working with modern neuroscience, which helps us better understand what’s going on inside our brains as we work towards changing our patterns of thinking and behavior.

First session

As a licensed clinician I will spend some time getting to know you and the issues that brought you into treatment. He or she may use a formal, structured interview, or it may just feel like a more free-flowing conversation.

Strengths

My communication style is calm, compassionate, and attentive. Good communication is the absolute cornerstone of the therapy process. I take a genuine interest in my clients and help them to feel understood and to better understand themselves. I can help you create goals and milestones so that you can gauge your progress toward improvement and personal development.

Ideal clients

I love working with people that are just ready to work. It doesn’t even matter if they have really strong defenses and resistances. I think it’s really important to not judge that or be anti-that. As long as there are some reasons they are there. Which is just about everybody, otherwise they wouldn’t be there.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT aims to teach people that it is possible to have control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. CBT helps you to challenge and overcome automatic beliefs, and use practical strategies to change or modify your behaviour.

We felt comfortable with him and the fact that he is from Charlotte our hometown solidified for us that he was meant to help me and my husband be what God created. (A perfect union)
