As a licensed professional counselor, my work revolves around supporting clients through a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, and more while using a holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and compassion focused approach.

My goal is to help you align with your authenticity and leverage your existing strengths to foster resilience and self-compassion.

My goal is to help you align with your authenticity and leverage your existing strengths to foster resilience and self-compassion. I deeply value walking along each client on their journey and work diligently to create a relationship based on trust and connection.

First session

Our first session may feel a bit like a first date--it's normal to feel a little anxious! I'll ask questions about your concerns and your life to better understand your goals and how I can help. We'll continue to get know each other so that we can build a strong therapeutic relationship. I'll also give you plenty of space to ask any questions you have about my approach, what to expect in future sessions, or therapy in general.

Strengths

My priority is creating a warm, safe place for clients to explore themselves. Beyond that, I tailor my approach to a client's needs and draw from many different theories and skills to support a client's progress. Therapy is a vulnerable process that requires a willingness to confront parts of ourselves that we might avoid. Together, we'll find gentle ways to accept and challenge those parts for the purpose they've served.

Ideal clients

While I find value working with many different concerns, I find many clients come to therapy with concerns of feeling stuck, unsatisfied, or overwhelmed. Much of my experience has come from working with 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, clients struggling with identity, self-esteem issues, neurodivergence or depression and anxiety.

Treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy offers clients the opportunity to uncover the roots of some their beliefs, perceptions, and challenges. Together, we can reflect on if these thought patterns and beliefs still align with and serve a purpose for clients.

Trauma Informed Care

Our past experiences influence our current responses to many different things. Keeping this in mind during our work together helps me better support clients in understanding their inner world.

Compassion Focused

Creating a warm, empathetic environment is critical to the therapeutic relationship. I work hard to create a space where clients can be open and increase their self-compassion.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy identifies and incorporates client's values. I often find clients wanting to realign with their values, which impacts their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.

First session went quite well! She's a great listener and has been able to connect with presented topics. It felt like conversing with a friend at a cafe. Feeling confident about where things go from here.
