I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 17 years of professional experience helping adults manage anxiety, stress, depression, problems in relationship, and unexpected losses and transitions.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 17 years of professional experience helping adults manage anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, problems in relationship, and unexpected losses and transitions.

I will help you untangle the effects of past trauma, change habitual ways of thinking or behaving that are no longer serving you, navigate loss, or make an important life decision. My communication style is very personable, compassionate and conversational. I like to ask thought-provoking and clarifying questions, offer alternative views, and will always honor your choices. Diversity is honored here.

First session

In our first meeting I will answer any questions you have and learn more about you so that we can identify what is most important to you and be sure of a good fit.

Strengths

Effective therapy involves a bit more than deep listening. Most people want to leave feeling better or gain new insight. I offer evidence-based tools to improve your mood and communication, regulate your emotions, process traumatic memories and navigate life's challenges with more grace. Sustainable change builds upon small, simple steps. Using the tools I share will yield noticeable results within 3 sessions or less.

Ideal clients

Sometimes we need help making an important decision, and at other times we just need someone to listen deeply and confirm our sanity. I welcome all forms of diversity, and believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. If you are introspective, able to reflect on your experience, work through some discomfort, and willing to apply recommendations outside of session, we'll make a great fit.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy to be most effective for managing anxiety and depression, and will share simple, well-researched, evidence-based methods to help you feel more grounded, balanced, and able to change habitual ways of thinking and feeling.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

It's impossible to think clearly when emotionally overwhelmed, but a Superpower hides in plain sight: your attention. Bringing mindful attention to your experience in new ways can interrupt spirals of anxiety, depression and reactivity, calm the nervous system, and help you feel more in control and better able to solve problems.

Vicki is fantastic. Smart, authentic (two things that matter the most to me), and also offered tangible actions. She is compassionate, truly listened to me, and I could actually check more boxes in the survey questions above than I'm allowed to. She is GREAT! In fact, in more than 40 years. of therapy, I haven't met anyone I instantly trusted like I do Vicki. I'm so impressed with her, and with Grow Therapy!

I can say that Vicki acknowledged the pain and frustration I am experiencing. I have a lot to unpack, and she was patient and willing to ask the hard questions.
