Hello! My name is Colleen and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland. I have my MSW from the University of Maryland- Baltimore and have been practicing social work since 2015.

I assist people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other serious mental illnesses with acceptance, treatment, and pursuing their goals.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process during which we will identify your goals, strengths, and challenges, and come up with ways to address your challenges and celebrate your successes, no matter how big or small. I assist people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other serious mental illnesses with acceptance, treatment, and pursuing their goals. I can also assist you if are feeling overwhelmed by worries about the past or future. I utilize a mixture of evidence based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, and motivational interviewing. I have experience working with adults with substance use disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and others. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or are interested in setting up a session.

First session

In our first session I will provide information on the basics of therapy and my practice. Please feel free to ask me any questions that may come up. We will discuss why you are seeking therapy at this time and your personal history. I am interested to know what you are hoping to work on during sessions.

Strengths

I will listen to you and we will work together to address the challenges you are facing.

Colleen has been my therapist since before she came to Grow. No matter how urgent or anxious I’m feeling before a session, something about her presence and demeanor always just makes things feel so basic and manageable as I talk with her (or at her, really.). I go in feeling like “omgomg it’s falling apart I feel crazy aahhh” and leave feeling like I’ve got a simple little list of life tasks that I can totally handle. I don’t know how she does it, I just know that’s she’s great.
