Sae Chichibu-Denny
I have worked at a hospital, community mental health center, group and private practice. I worked with people with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, addiction problems, minority/ identity and multicultural issues, life transition problems. Also, I worked with people with ADHD and developmental disorders. I understand that you would like to learn about your problems to change and navigate your life in a better way.
First session
The first session is to develop trustful relationship with a client to make a safe therapeutic environment. In the first session, I will ask many questions about you regarding the emotional and behavioral problems, such as family background and relationships, childhood trauma, and experiences at school and work. Through the questions, I can understand your problems, make a diagnosis, and formulate your treatment plans.
Strengths
I utilize integrated treatment methods, which is a uniquely organized method for each client's problem. I am also a EMDRIA certified therapist for EMDR therapy, which is a robust method for processing traumatic memories and/ or anxiety.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are people who are aware of their emotional and/or behavioral problems, wanting to change them in a better way. They would like to stop struggling with the problems. Also, I work with clients who want to learn new skills and self-monitoring methods. I usually give weekly homework assignments, with which clients practice new skills in everyday life.
