Deirdre Wendel
I’m a therapist who believes healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I offer a calm and nurturing space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without pressure or judgment. I work with adults and couples who are coping with medical conditions, health-related stress, or major changes in their lives.
I work with adults and couples who are coping with medical conditions, health-related stress, or major changes in their lives.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered on helping you gain clarity, build confidence, and move through challenges with more ease. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what they need. Together, we slow things down, explore what’s getting in the way, and create new ways of understanding and caring for yourself. My goal is for you to feel supported and empowered as you build a life that feels more balanced and aligned.
First session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. There’s no expectation to have everything figured out. We’ll talk about what’s been going on for you, what you hope to work toward, and any questions you may have about the therapy process. My intention is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and confident that you’re in a space where your voice truly matters.
Strengths
I bring a calm, compassionate presence and a deep commitment to creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are. I value collaboration, and together we’ll identify goals and explore practical tools that support meaningful, lasting change.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to support adults and couples who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, health-related stress, relationship challenges, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward. They are often seeking a safe, supportive space where they can better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, and build confidence. Whether you’re adjusting to a medical diagnosis, managing chronic stress, strengthening your relationships, or working toward greater emotional balance, I provide a collaborative and compassionate approach that helps you create meaningful, lasting change.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals navigating medical challenges, adjustment difficulties, and relationship stress.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness-based approaches to support clients adjusting to medical diagnoses, or health anxiety. Mindfulness helps reduce stress and physical tension while improving emotional coping.
