Welcome to M.A.D. Therapy, LLC! I am Misty Annette Diaz, PhD (abd), and we’re all M.A.D. here. Together we’ll move from survival mode into a life guided by confidence, connection, and change. As an LMFT and PhD (abd), helping relationships thrive is my ultimate goal. Lasting change begins with the relationship we have with ourselves. I actively challenge the patterns that keep clients stuck. I guide my clients out of survival mode into the present moment. I incorporate trauma informed yoga to reset the nervous system. I am EMDR trained. In-person & in-home case-by-case. Stay safe and talk soon. My experience varies from severe mood disorders to generalized anxiety. Niches with training: Suicidality and high-risk, LGBTQIA+, Military, Adoption.
In our first session, we will join together to discuss concerns and create goals for a preferred future. The following sessions will explore dynamics individually and systemically as we stabilize day-to-day routines. Restructuring daily environments provides safety to explore the past traumas which continue to sabotage our present choices. Let the healing begin...
Having clinical experience in military settings i.e. forward deployed war zones, in-patient/out-patient psych units, Texas state agencies, and private practice…I do not scare easily. I’ve been around. I can also sit with you in the dark. Namaste
I enjoy clients who are eager for change. My favorites are motivated to exit survival mode and enter into safety in the present moment. Let’s feel our feels. I am here to guide you. Change can only happen when we are sick of our own poor choices. The lowest we have been is equivalent to the height of our ascension ability. Let’s get weird and connect to our highest & best self with the support of our ancestors. I love to watch my clients fall in love with themselves. What’s the best that could happen? Namaste

When I started taking antidepression medication, it was recommended that I start talk therapy too. Though I was nervous, I gave it a shot and chose Misty. I had my third session with her today - I am so grateful to have found her. She is warm and caring and gives me many ideas about how to care for myself as I begin to heal my depresssion, anxiety, and OCD. I am comfortable sharing with her and she is giving me hope. I look forward to learning more from her and from myself with her help.
