Nadira Persaud
Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey with 16+ years of experience supporting individuals of all ages across outpatient, in-home, crisis, and hospital settings. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where individuals feel comfortable being themselves, expressing their thoughts and feelings, and working toward the life they desire.
My experiences working in the different areas of mental health with individuals of different backgrounds allows me to welcome any challenges that arise during our work together.
My laid-back, calming approach allows us to build a supportive environment that encourages healing, growth, and forward progress.
First session
During our first session, we will take the time to get to know one another and begin building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and the areas of your life where you would like to see growth or change. We will also discuss your goals and begin developing a personalized plan for our work together. If you are new to therapy, you may not know exactly what to expect—and that’s okay. There is no need to have everything figured out before our first session. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, ask questions, and determine whether we are the right fit to work together.
Strengths
I bring a calm, laid-back, and approachable personality that helps individuals feel comfortable and at ease. My experience across various areas of mental health and with diverse populations allows me to adapt to each person’s unique needs and approach challenges with openness and flexibility. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard and empowered.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adults who are interested in learning more about themselves, gaining insight into their thoughts and behaviors, and making meaningful changes in their lives. I work with individuals who may be struggling with maladaptive behaviors, anxiety, depression, self-worth and self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, coping with life transitions, and other personal or emotional difficulties. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-exploration and interested in developing healthier coping skills and strategies to navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, explore their experiences, and work toward personal growth and healing. If you are interested in working together or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to supporting you through your journey of healing and self-discovery.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I have many years of experience working with individuals of all ages and from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe it is important to work collaboratively with each individual to identify what works best for them while providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for growth. In my practice, I use supportive therapy to build trust, strengthen coping skills, provide encouragement, and help clients navigate challenges in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful to them. I also find it helpful to incorporate tools and techniques from different therapeutic modalities to create an individualized treatment approach that addresses the unique needs, goals, and experiences of each person.
