Christopher Raposo
My name is Christopher Raposo. I’m a trained and licensed clinical social worker. My work experience has been in acute psychiatric hospitalization, outpatient substance abuse, and community behavioral health clinics. I’ve worked with a clientele suffering from a vast array of disorders, backgrounds, and life stressors.
My greatest strength as a provider is psychoeducation, interlacing research and general talk therapy in a method that aims to empower my clients to fulfill their goals and take ownership to the new found skills.
The work we do as a team mostly consists of psychoeducation, therapy, and a therapeutic alliance defined by treatment goals and objectives.
First session
During our first session we will conduct assessments, define symptoms, challenge areas, barriers, and define our treatment goals and objectives.
Strengths
My greatest strength as a provider is psychoeducation, interlacing research and general talk therapy in a method that aims to empower my clients to fulfill their goals and take ownership to the new found skills.
Ideal clients
I really enjoy working with clients who are new to therapy and are often unsure about what potential benefits they may obtain. Seeing the growth from the first session to the last session provides a level of satisfaction and pride.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I've been using MI as a primary medium for various therapy modalities for several years and feel very comfortable utilizing MI as a method to help define goals and objectives.
