Megan Meeks
Hello! Are you having trouble finding balance in life? Do you find it difficult to make your actions and intentions align? Are you struggling to connect to people in meaningful ways?
I am passionate about integrating mindfulness, yoga and education about our nervous system to develop a stronger relationship with yourself.
I help people find more calm, peace and headspace in life. I will always meet you right where you are. As our starting point, we will identify what is keeping you from being the best version of yourself. I am passionate about integrating mindfulness, yoga and education about our nervous system to develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you’re dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues, a traumatic past, increased substance use, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I’m here to help. I offer a non-judgmental space, using evidence-based treatments where you may heal and grow.
First session
Our first session will be focusing on what is getting in your way of being the best version of you. I do my best to gather pertinent information and have you leave the first session with a tangible focus of what to work on.
Strengths
I believe many of our barriers stem from unresolved incidents (traumatic events) that have effected how we perceive ourselves. Whether we talk about the events or not, I am passionate about helping you heal the versions of yourself that get in the way of you being your best version. This more accurate perception of self leads to increased stability in life, increased connection with self and others, and overall increased wellbeing.
Treatment methods
Polyvagal Therapy
I use polyvagal to raise awareness of our physical and emotional state to increase active emotional regulation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I primarily focus on CBT when working on resolving cognitive conflicts and navigating emotion.
Mind-body approach
As a certified yoga instructor and licensed therapist I am passionate about integrating these approaches to aid in the development of mind-body awareness. Mindfulness is a large part of this practice and often necessary to increase the efficacy of the other therapies I offer.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
When we get stuck IFS has been a wonderful approach at times to resolve conflicts that reside within us.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person centered therapy is used when we really need a space to explore who we are, practice feeling heard and speaking our truth.
