Hi there, my name is Kristina Mills-Gregory, and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina, Oregon, Vermont, Virginia, and Florida. I have been providing therapy for over 15 years. I have a Masters in Counseling from Campbell University, and a BA in Psychology and Communication Studies from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Prior to becoming a therapist, I started my career as a school counselor in public schools. I have also worked in community mental health, providing a wide range of services. My passion is helping others achieve their goals, and that is why I take a partnership approach to therapy. We will work together to ensure that you are moving forward in your progress. I use a wide variety of techniques that are specific to the individual, based on your needs. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focus Technique, and Person Centered. I work to ensure that you feel safe and secure, by providing a space free from judgment.
The first session is to gather information, so that we can determine an initial diagnosis and develop your treatment plan.
My strengths include being able to empathize, and being easy to relate to. My clients have told me that I really help them to be comfortable.
The biggest thing is making sure that you are open-minded and ready to explore things. Therapy can be really scary, but it doesn't have to be. I'm here to support you through the process, so you are not alone.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used CBT in my practice for most of my career. It works well with a wide variety of symptoms, utilizing actions and thoughts to assist. It’s helped managed clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you have a better quality of life.

I have had 2 sessions with Kristina and have really enjoyed them so far. She has given me a good structured environment to share my thoughts. I really appreciate how she can give personal experience to relate to the things I am sharing with her, it makes the appointment very open and comfortable.

She was nice. But I didn't like it when I was discussing my unhealthy relationship with someone. She asked me what motivated me to interact with them. Due to how I told her I got involved with them, she shouldn't have been able to ask a question like that. It upset me and made me feel judged, like she was asking why I got with them. Whenever I discuss this with anyone, I don't mind them speaking the truth. I do mind them saying anything that makes me feel judged.
