Losses, social isolation, family tension, work fatigue, health issues, and uncertainty have created an imbalance in our lives, consequently decreasing our overall well-being. We are all striving to grow the life we desire. I help individuals flourish through integrative, evidence-based therapy while providing a structure of accountability for in-between-session work. I've been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2008, was initially licensed as an LPCA in 2004, and am a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). I've worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, AD(H)D, trauma, and relationship conflicts. Together, we can develop a toolbox of resources to help you become more resilient.

In addition to working as a professional counselor, I have freelanced in art and design and worked in environmental and social advocacy.

First session

Whether you have had therapy before or this is a new experience, feeling apprehensive is okay. Relationships are essential. I strive to make our appointments feel more like a conversation that ends with a path forward, including goals and next steps. Our first session will provide a general overview of your reason(s) for scheduling, your desired therapy outcome, and your preferred session frequency. I will send a few intake forms before your first appointment. If you have any questions, please reach out through Grow messaging before the first appointment.

Strengths

I have worked in trauma-informed care with nonprofits since 2004 and started a private practice in 2022. In addition to my work as a professional counselor, I have freelanced in art and design, worked in environmental and social advocacy, and completed a postgraduate fellowship in environmental management. I have a wide range of interests and find it easy to connect with most individuals. I participate in my own counseling and growth work and deeply respect anyone on this journey. I bring these lived experiences into the session, which leads to a more authentic approach.

Ideal clients

I serve individual adult clients on a wellness journey to improve their quality of life and their relationship with themselves and others. I offer a conversational, holistic approach to therapy and work best with clients who are comfortable with this style. Clients need personal goals that motivate them to attend therapy consistently and be open to the therapeutic process, as well as an understanding of how to communicate through the Grow messaging.

Treatment methods

Integrative

Integrative therapy is a holistic approach to treatment that recognizes the interconnectedness of mind and body, viewing mental health within a broader context that includes physiological, social, and emotional factors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT focuses on acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based action to develop a non-judgmental awareness of thoughts and emotions. The eventual goal is to live a meaningful life aligned with one's values, even in the presence of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.

Existential

Existential therapy focuses on the anxiety and uncertainties that are part of life, such as death, loss, the fear of the unknown, and the meaning of life.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach that helps people change their behavior by exploring their own reasons for wanting to change.

I found Christa very easy to talk to. She was very easy to talk to in our first session.

Love her ... it's more like a conversation than a 'therapy session.' Goals are set and talked about in a conversational manner and it keeps me coming back.
