(she/her)
Hi there! I'm September and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) practicing in Minnesota. I graduated with my master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Saint Cloud State University in 2021 and have practiced in a variety of settings including my current private practice, community mental health, DBT intensive outpatient programming, corrections through the DOC, crisis, and foster care settings. I enjoy working with clients experiencing trauma (specializing in betrayal trauma), self-esteem concerns, codependency, relationship concerns, and those who may be navigating narcissistic abuse.
In our initial session, clients can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere to get to know one another and ask any questions they may have about the therapy process. I aim to ensure clients feel comfortable in this initial phase to discuss the experiences have brought them to the therapy space. As a clinician who specializes in working with clients with a variety of trauma backgrounds, I encourage discussing only what the client feels ready and safe to disclose. Along with getting a better understanding of your current concerns, we will begin to collaboratively discuss therapy goals given you wish to move forward with the therapeutic process.
I identify as a compassionate and authentic clinician who approaches each session with a strengths-based and client-centered approach. Clients have often described me as creating an open and warm atmosphere to share their unique stories. But fear not! Expect delicate and challenging nudges toward personal awareness and growth intertwined throughout the therapeutic experience. I believe each individual has an inner wisdom and intuition, and with the support of the therapeutic relationship, can create space to tap into this knowledge of self, connection with others, and meaning within the world.
I thrive connecting and working with women in individual therapy aged 18 plus who are seeking support for trauma, relationship concerns, and self-esteem. Additionally, I enjoy working with couples, including polyamorous relationships and ethical non-monogamy, seeking therapy services for communication concerns, infidelity, life transitions, and rebuilding trust.

Attachment-based
I utilize attachment-based therapy for clients struggling to manage attachment wounds, typically formed in childhood, and how they impact current relationships.
Psychoanalytic
Psychoanalysis is a form of therapy that dives deep into the unconscious mind and brings awareness to the client's current behaviors and life patterns that occur outside of conscious awareness. This form of therapy highlights early childhood experiences, narrative exploration, defense mechanisms, and transference that occurs within sessions and in daily life.
Existential
Existential therapy is a beneficial therapy modality for clients with the desire to explore life's meaning, their purpose, and identity concerns. I find this modality helpful for connecting with one's inner wisdom and authenticity to create a more fulfilling life.
Strength-Based
It takes a lot of vulnerability to show up to an intimate space such as therapy and discuss deep-rooted concerns. Most clients I meet with tend to be hard on themselves and neglect to realize their current strengths, resilience, and positive qualities. My intention is to assist clients in increasing awareness of these aspects of themselves to gain confidence, increase life satisfaction, and further draw out strengths they possess.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a treatment modality designed for clients seeking support for managing intense emotions, increasing mindfulness, navigating relationships, and incorporating coping strategies in these areas of life. I have experience and training in DBT throughout my time working at an intensive outpatient DBT clinic in Plymouth, MN.

I like that she got into both of our backgrounds after asking us why we were here in our own experiences (couples therapy). She asks follow up questions which I really liked and makes us explain more than we just naturally want to surface level say

September is actually all of those things above. She is great and very helpful. She gets me to think through things while taking all circumstances to consider.
