Hello there! My name is Destiny, a licensed clinical social worker currently practicing out of North Carolina. I've been a psychotherapist for the past 4 years and social worker for over a decade. I received a Bachelor's (2015) and Master's (2018) degree from East Carolina University. I primarily work with people with anxiety disorders, ADHD, and issues specific to women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB). Recently, I have transitioned from work in a community mental health clinic to multiple area nursing homes as a traveling geriatric therapist & see clients on this platform in the evenings.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you will have time to ask questions, learn about scheduling and general housekeeping, and have the flexibility to decide if we are a good match! I like to have a consultation-like feel to first sessions and will not take a mismatch personally.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my integrity. Giving suggestions to my clients will be interventions that I have used or would be willing to use. As a person I have experienced my share of therapists, both good and not so good. This has strengthened my professional ability to lead with integrity, honesty, and clear communication.

I've worked with a number of folks seeking W-PATH eligibility for hormone-based, gender-affirming medical care. This modality is primarily used to help people find and align their identity with their sense of self.

I am an educator at heart! I believe it's important to teach my clients (and others) about different symptoms and diagnoses in ways they can fully understand.
