Hi my name is Ilona a LCSW with over 6 years of counseling experience. I specialize in working with women diagnosed with anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, caregiver role strain, and life transitions. My approach is trauma informed, cultural sensitivity, and one that is tailored to each Individual unique experiences. I am an empathetic listener who will provide a warm, safe, nonjudgemental space, encourage free expressions of your thoughts, and to help you discover your true potential, and build on your strengths.
Our first session will be centered around getting acquainted with each other, and to gain insight on what brought you to therapy. I want you to feel relax and comfortable no pressure as meeting with a therapist for the first time could be overwhelming.
My greatest strength is my ability to listen, to motivate, and encourage.
I am comfortable working with individuals who are ready to commit, those who are willing to work towards their goals collaboratively, and those who want to achieve positive outcomes. It is difficult navigating through life situations alone, and it could be overwhelming as well. My goal is to help provide the support, tools, and encouragement you need so you won't have to feel alone on this journey.

I used CBT as a tool to help clients connect the dots on how negative thoughts can impact their feelings and behaviors. I used positive coping techniques as a tool to help clients develop healthy ways to cope with their issues.
I believe every client experiences are unique to them, and we all have developed different ways to cope and overcome life issues. Strength based approach is used to help client's build and cultivate their own natural capabilities, as well as to increase their self-esteem.
It is important for clients to understand their mental health or medical conditions. Psycho-education is used to increase my client's knowledge on symptoms, internal and external triggers, to develop and use coping techniques, to problem solve, as well as to empower clients.
I use mindfulness technique as an integrative treatment along with other treatment method such as CBT to increase client's awareness of the mind body connection. Breathing exercises and meditation, to help decrease anxiety, improve sleep, reduce pain and other symptoms.
