Hi! I'm a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) with a clinical focus based in Michigan. I received my Masters from the University of Southern California and have been practicing in a variety of settings for 13 years.

I come into sessions very authentically in hopes that I can bring the best outcome to each person I work with.

I enjoy helping adults of any age work through challenging areas of their life, whether it be a trauma from the past or feeling overwhelmed by juggling everyday responsibilities, so they can feel like the best versions of themselves and continue their story in a way that serves them.

First session

In our first session together, we will start with introductions and then see where it goes from there! If you come in knowing exactly what you need to talk about, we can dive right in! And if you don't, I'll spend some time getting to know you and we'll explore the best approach for you together.

Strengths

Having worked in a variety of settings and with a vast array of people from all walks of life, I've developed numerous approaches to therapy and am confident in my ability to team with my clients to determine the best plan for each individual, so they get what they want out of our therapy sessions. I come into sessions very authentically in hopes that I can bring the best outcome to each person I work with.

Ideal clients

I work best with clients who are ready for meaningful change and want a warm, non-judgmental and supportive space to do the work. My dream client is open-minded and motivated to better understand themselves, improve relationships, manage stress and/or heal old patterns that don't serve them anymore. They value honesty, growth and showing up consistently - even when it feels hard.

Treatment methods

Eclectic

I use a very eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring our sessions to what my client needs at the time. It may be a mix of motivational interviewing, CBT, psychoeducation, skills training (e.g., coping skills, how to set boundaries, etc) or providing a safe space to process some things in your life with as little or as much feedback as you need.

Trauma Informed Care

Providing trauma informed care is very important in my practice and I do everything I can to provide you with the care you deserve when processing your trauma. I’ve also been trained in and provided Written Exposure Therapy to a range of populations as a means to treat PTSD since 2021.

Caitlin is warm and kind. She helps point out thoughts and processes that aren't serving you well and how to reframe things in a healthier way. The balance of acceptance and growth works well for me.

Caitlyn has an amazing ability to identify what’s really happening. She’s supportive while still being effectively direct in assessing what’s going on. Her authenticity in communicating her perspective and guidance has been very positive for me. She’s given me the gift of empowerment in the situations I’m dealing with. I’m not overstating it when I say she’s changed my life.
