Hi, I am a Christian counselor first and foremost. I specialize in assisting individuals that use their spiritual faith as a weapon. I specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma and those with a history of sexual abuse. Most people at some point in their life will deal with depression. I strive to help my clients determine the root cause of their issues. We then explore ways of achieving healing and recovery through the word of God. First session

In our first session together, we will start with brief introduction to get to know what issues you are dealing with. I utilize biblical principles in my counseling. I will always share the truth with you according to the word of God. I won't always say things you want to hear because I base my counseling on God's word.

Strengths

My greatest strength is caring about others and helping them realize their potential. You will be allowed time to really be heard and feel heard.

Ideal clients

I have a great affinity for working with adults who are seeking to make change in their lives according to the word of God. I believe the only real help and guidance must come from our Creator. We try to make up life according to our own rules but seldom does it profit us in the long run if it doesn't align with God's word.

Christian Counseling

I have had over 25 years of providing Christian/Biblical Counseling. I first listen and hear your story. Together we explore areas of your life where you would like to see change or growth. We then apply God's word to your life and see where it aligns or disagrees. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as tools to help you explore what thought processes or life changes are needed.

Tara was always very kind and warm during our sessions. However, I did feel that she minimized some of my issues and often summarized my problems by recommending that I just pray about it. While I really appreciated some of her spiritual counsel, I was looking for more in-depth and practical solutions outside of just prayer.
