Greetings, I am Dr. Mekeya. My background is as a licensed social worker. I became a mental health professional because I understand the importance of having support through tough times and a partner to cheer with you in times of victory. I have the pleasure of helping others recognize their strengths and abilities that can be used to overcome challenges and promote growth. Being a mental health professional allows me to positively touch someone’s life daily and be an ear for someone that just needs to vent.
During first sessions, clients will have the opportunity to discuss their needs while also learning more about me and my background. I will discuss my plan to provide support while demonstrating my communication style and pattern. We both will have the opportunity to determine our level of comfortability with one another and decide if we should continue with this therapeutic partnership.
I provide a safe space where you feel comfortable being you. My clients know that my only expectation is for you to be free to say whatever you feel, without fear of judgement.
I am here to serve clients that need support. I am a therapist you can be yourself with, be open and honest, and I am someone who understands the stress and pressure that can come from a troubled relationship, unresolved trauma, family conflict, or self-esteem issues.

I leave sessions feeling whole. There has never been a moment when I've dreaded coming to therapy. I do, in fact, believe that I am benefiting from talking to someone about my life. It feels natural the way that she relates to me.
