I’m Missy, a licensed clinical social worker offering focused, as-needed therapy without a predetermined timeline. I help adults make sense of confusing relationships, difficult family dynamics, and situations that have caused them to doubt themselves or feel unlike the person they used to be. My style is warm, direct, practical, and judgment-free. Come in with what’s happening. Say it out loud. We’ll look beneath the alarm, identify the pattern, and clarify your next best step. There is no package or required number of sessions. Some clients come for help with one specific situation. Others return when new concerns arise or continue while therapy feels useful. You decide when and how often to schedule. Learn more about my approach at lisntherapy.com.
Our first session is a real conversation—not an intake form read back to you. We’ll talk about what has been happening, what brought you here now, and what you need help understanding or deciding. You do not need a diagnosis, a label for someone else, or a perfect explanation. If something feels wrong and you are having trouble trusting your thoughts, reactions, or decisions, we can begin there.
I help people slow down confusing situations and see the pattern beneath the individual incidents. I’ll listen closely, reflect what I’m hearing, and ask direct questions that help you separate your own instincts from fear, self-doubt, and other people’s narratives. Our work will be compassionate, honest, and practical—with a focus on clarity and your next best step.
I work best with adults who want honest feedback, practical help, and room to make their own decisions. Many of my clients feel confused or controlled in a relationship, monitor another person’s mood, rehearse what they want to say, apologize when they raise concerns, or no longer trust their own judgment. You do not have to decide whether to stay or leave before starting therapy. You also do not have to commit to an open-ended course of treatment. We can begin with the situation in front of you.

I use Solution-Focused Brief Treatment to help you identify what needs your attention now, recognize what is already working, and decide on practical next steps. This approach gives our sessions direction without requiring a predetermined course of therapy. You may come for help with one situation or continue for as long as the work feels useful.
I use a compassion-focused approach to help soften harsh self-criticism and strengthen patience, confidence, and emotional calm. Compassion-Focused Therapy can help you respond to yourself with understanding instead of judgment—especially when self-doubt or another person’s criticism has made it difficult to trust yourself.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while reconnecting with what matters most to you. Instead of remaining stuck in a struggle with your thoughts, we’ll focus on choices and actions that reflect your values and help you move forward.

I’ve been seeing Missy for a little over a month, she has been such a blessing and since the first session I’ve always left filled, seen, heard and always having new tools in my pocket. Missy is amazing, there is never any judgement and she always has a smile on her face.
