Mona Cattan
Hi, I’m Mona. I specialize in helping people overcome the emotional pain of trauma and addictions, including anxiety and depression. With a Master’s in clinical social work and over 25 years as a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky, I guide you in understanding how trauma affects your relationships, career, finances, health, and overall quality of life. I help people break free from the pain of the past without reliving it. With a unique blend of counseling and coaching, I will guide you to release emotional baggage and reclaim your life. Every person's journey is unique, so I offer tailored services to meet your needs. Whatever you're facing, I'm here to help you move forward.

First session
Your first session, together you and I will explore what brought you to therapy and decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We'll look at how your thoughts, beliefs and past experiences affect your emotions and ability to function. I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

Ideal clients
My ideal client is ready to experience healing and change and is willing to do the work necessary to create it. My role as your therapist is to help you understand the root causes behind your pain, explore solutions, and create a plan for meaningful, lasting change. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: You can resolve the pain of the past without reliving it. Many of the ways we learned to think, feel, behave, and relate to others developed as ways to survive difficult experiences. What helped us survive the chaos and challenges of childhood may be crippling us as adults. The problem isn't simply what happened; it's when yesterday's survival strategies become today's barriers. People-pleasing, avoiding conflict, shutting down emotionally, staying constantly alert, trying to control everything, or putting everyone else's needs first may once have helped you survive. Today, those patterns may be keeping you from the relationships, peace, confidence, and life you want. Therapy doesn't have to mean revisiting every painful detail of your past. Together, we can identify patterns keeping you stuck, understand the purpose they once served, build on your strengths and resilience, discover what you need now, and create a path forward so that your past becomes part of your story rather than the author of your future. I have over 25 years of experience helping adults, teens, children, and families navigate trauma, crisis, grief, and major life challenges, including military families, first responders, and survivors of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, sexual assault, violent crime, and traumatic events. I am a Kentucky Licensed Clinical Social Worker with additional training and experience in trauma/PTSD, addictions and codependency, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and phobias. You can't change your past, but you can change the power it has over your life today.
