Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with over 10 years of experience, and I'm truly passionate about helping people feel more like themselves again. My approach is relaxed, supportive, and tailored to you- because no two people are the same. I draw from a mix of techniques to meet you where you are and help you move forward in a way that feels right for you. I strive to offer a space where you can feel heard, understood, and gently challenged to grow.
In our first session, I will gather information to understand your background, life experiences, and current symptoms/challenges you are facing in your life. We will also discuss what your goals are for therapy and how we can work together to achieve these goals.
Having worked in multiple settings and with clients who have various diagnoses, I’ve learned to attend to each client as their own unique case. I take the time to get to know you and look for patterns that you may have not noticed in your life, and will help you identify and process your thoughts and feelings. Therapy is a journey, and I encourage all my clients to be compassionate with themselves.

With CBT, I will help you to identify negative thought patterns and find alternate more rational ways of thinking.
Trauma-informed care is a strengths-based approach that is grounded in an understanding of and responsiveness to the impact of trauma.
Mindfulness is the awareness of one's internal states and surroundings. It can help people avoid destructive or automatic habits and responses. Some strategies include breathing exercises, meditation, and body scan exercises. We can use this in session or I can send you resources to practice this on your own in between sessions.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

I have been working with Khalida for the past few years and it has been very helpful for me. She is very kind, open, non judgmental, and easy to talk to. She has helped me reframe my thinking and often comes up with solutions that I had not thought of myself.
