Whitney McSparran
I am a professional counselor with over 10 years of experience licensed in both Ohio (LPCC) and Pennsylvania (LPC). I specialize in supporting women, young adults, parents, and queer folk navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I help people build the skills they need to manage their stressors while we break the patterns that keep them stuck. I use a person-centered, feminist lens approach rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life blended with tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, and Schema Therapy. We'll work together to create a space where you feel empowered to grow, heal, and shape your own path forward.

First session
My first session motto is 'no pressure.' We'll start by getting to know each other, learning what brought you to the therapy, and beginning to build your toolbox of skills.
Strengths
I have a knack for helping people who have struggled in therapy before discover what works for them. My person-centered approach empowers you to feel safe, supported, and confident as you explore new perspectives, grow through challenges, and embrace your own path forward.
Ideal clients
I love to work with adults of all ages dealing with life’s challenges, from depression, anxiety, and grief to relationship stress, identity exploration, major transitions, and everyday pressures. I am deeply commited to working with women, young adults, parents, and LGBTQIA+ folk. If you are ready to figure out what patterns are keeping you stuck, I am ready to take that journey on with you.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
“People are my religion, because I believe in them.” – AJJ, People I have full faith that you know your path the best, and you don’t have to navigate alone. Let's make therapy work for you.
Feminist
No one exists in a vacuum. By using a feminist therapy lens we can better understand how our society impacts our personal experiences and how we view ourselves, our relationships, and our world.
Compassion Focused
Guilt and shame are the enemies of growth. By grounding our work in compassion I can assist you in working through negative self-perception to make space for meaningful change.
